I have a prototype unit for an upcoming HP ENVY m4 notebook that's set to release alongside Windows 8 in October of this year. It's sort of a cross between the ENVY 4t and Pavilion dv4t-5100, not quite as thin and light as the ENVY 4t but still has an optical drive, removable battery and easy to access memory and hard drive for upgrades. It uses a standard voltage Intel processor as well, so you'll get better performance than the Envy 4t. The downside is that it's apparently only going to offer a 1366 x 768 resolution screen and as far as I know right now no dedicated graphics. Anyway, I have a video of this and some pictures below along with a link to a first thoughts review I did. Happy to answer any questions here.

I hear you, there's a fan so I don't see why HP couldn't put at least a mid-range graphics card in but my contacts indicate that won't be the case with this. I don't have any info on whether HP will be adding a 14-inch performance machine back to their lineup. If the information changes in regards to configurations for this Envy m4 I'll post back.
