Hey Everyone. New member to the boards. Wanted to see if you guys can help me out. Just purchased the new Envy 15 (Early 2012) model. Few Problems:

    Sound/Popping Distortion:

When Windows loads up/shuts down and plays its sound, there is noticeable distortion in its sound. I also noticed a popping sound when I was in a chatroom with an HP assistant. Every time I'd hit enter to send a message, a popping sound would occur.

When I play youtube videos, the sound distortion is extremely noticeable. The distortion usually comes from the voice of the speaker in the video.

    Battery Drain

My notebook would be at 85% before I shut it off for the night and when I wake up, it'll be at 48%. Any ideas what might be going on there?

I'm really hoping its not a hardware issue. Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks guys.

I know what you mean by the sound distortion. It's just that the distortion only occurs after/in intense CPU usage. I downloaded Coretemp and noticed it only happens when I am using the envy "intensely" shall I say(?).

For the battery issue, I don't think I can help you with that since the battery in my Envy functions properly.

Thanks for responding to my post. I took it over to HP Hong Kong and come to find out, the audio cable inside wasn't properly connected or the cable went bad(I can't remember exactly what they said.) Makes you wonder what type of QC HP is doing over in their Shanghai plant. -_-
