I have to decide between HP Elitebook 6930p versus IBM T400 and am conflicted. I am not loyal to any of the two brands. I realize this is a broad question but any plusses and minusses of the two laptops that people can post will help.

Second question is will there be a noticible performance gap between a P8400(2.26/1066/3Mb) and T9400(2.53/1066/6mb) for the following:
    - Vista bootup, application startup, etc.
    - regular usage (web browsing / document editing)
    - programming related tasks like compiling, etc.
