A friend of mine has an HP entertainment PC and he turned it on the other day and the screen was working on the top half, but on the bottom half it was very scrambled and sort of black. It almost looked like TV static. All he did was shut the computer down and when he turned it back on the screen was like that. Also there was some kind of message that could not be read all the way because of the condition of the screen that said something about hardware on the computer being changed. what could have happened and what can he do?

Seems like loose cable.Get it replaced if it's still under warranty.
