Hello NBR forums, its been awhile, I've had my envy 14 for about 5 months, and love the hell out of it. I am having one problem though, I have both it and my xbox 360 connected to the same network via wireless, and both have internet access, but for some reason I can't get them to see each other.

At first I thought, "Must be this ty qwest router/modem." So I went out and bought a wireless N router and enabled the qwest device for transparent bridging. After getting everything set up I still cant quite figure it out. I can't even get a ping from the xbox in the command prompt.

I have all my sharing options set to on as far as I know, I even disabled both the firewall on the computer and on the router hoping that might help. Still isn't working to any avail. If anyone has any suggestions/solutions I'd love some help.

sounds like router doesnt have open ports. I had this problem with my netgear router, tried everything then just let it go and never figured it out.

You're opening up all sorts of holes security wise, but try uPnP. If that doesn't work, DMZ the xbox and see if you can connect. Look in Windows Media Player > Options > Devices....you should see your xbox, you have to allow it to share with your pc.

If DMZ works, check which ports are being used and manually forward them so you can turn DMZ off and close up some holes.

This is probably a firewall problem, do you have Eset NOD 32 or another Antivirus Software ? They usually block every incoming connection so the Xbox cannot connect to your pc, try disabling the firewall and check whether it works or not.
Another cause can be the fact that you're sharing one of your pc connections (like sharing Wifi internet connection thru your Ethernet local area connection) I still don't know why but it seems to make the connection between the pc and the Xbox 360 impossible (at least on my computer), so disable the sharing and try to connect them.

Also in order to make the connection possible you've got to configure Windows to allow full access to the Xbox 360. The Xbox must be detected when you map the network using Network and Sharing Center, then click on it and allow full access.
