Running Windows 8 Release Preview (Build 8400) on a Summer 2011 Sandy Bridge Envy 14 with an i5-2410m. It's not the CPU that' stuck, though. Speedfan shows "Temp 2" (not sure which sensor that is) to be stuck at 89C, which is making BIOS spin the fans up to full speed. The problem goes away after shutting the machine off, removing the batteries, and holding down the power button for a while, but the problem eventually comes back. Not sure why the sensor is getting stuck or if it's even Win8's fault. All I know is that it's sapping battery life and making it impossible to work in quiet environments.
