So, I decided to once again use my HP Envy 14 after a long time if not really playing anything. So I decided to load up one of my favorite games, which I used to play on my other computer. The game is "The Hunter". So I hopped on the website and launched it.. But yeah, once again I seem to struggle to play it. It works fine for a while, but slowly the lag spikes come along. My drivers seemed to be updated, but I kinda end up getting problems all the time. It also sounds like a ing monster breathing most of the times, it's nearly never silent anymore even though it's located 2-3 inches above the table and the fans are cleaned.

I hope to get some answers that can help me.

    Best regards
    Chris

What are your temps? You can use HWinfo to check: HWiNFO, HWiNFO32 & HWiNFO64 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools

With what you say, it's hard to tell what the issue is. That's probably why no one can offer any help. One of the first thing that would be asked is if you cleaned the fans. But you did. So I don't know what to tell you. Malware perhaps? What does the CPU utilization report when you're idle? shouldn't be above 15%. If it is, it could be some malware running. Check Taskmanager.

    Here, try this: ThrottleStop

Can't guarantee that it'll work, but it will reveal if your CPU is underclocking itself :)

If that doesn't work, you could try using ATITool to keep your GPU clocks constant.

Maybe fiddle with your power profiles?
