    Hello all

    I own a HP Envy 14 1110nr laptop I bought 8 months ago.
Recently, it just refused to power on. I plugged in the AC adapter in and it won't charge. No amber light or anything. Ok.

I test the AC Adapter on another HP laptop. It charges. So its not the AC Adapter.

Then, I take out the battery, hold down the power button for 30 secs, then put it back in and plug in the AC, power on. Still nothing.
I also tried using on AC power and taking the battery out, to turn it on, but it wont work.

What's wrong? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Btw, this has happened couple of times already, but those two times I managed to fix it by taking the battery out and stuff.

Thanks for your response. Is there any other way to fix it? Or thats the only one. Since i live outside the states, I don't feel like sending it back.

Geez. Seems to be a common problem on E14s. Mine had the exact same problem 3 months into its warranty. At least two others here have reported this problem

I'm willing to hope and believe that those are three aberrations.

Exceptions and aberrations don't always swallow up the rule. With more data, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some kind of design flaw or bad component in a good % of Envies that's causing this problem to occur more often with Envies than with other notebooks.

man. between this and a few E14s with radiance screens melting (well like 509 bad pixels appearing all of a sudden)

...c'mon envy14. don't mess up. I need you to last like 3+ years

So I talked with a HP support guy. Seems like the problem was the charging unit of the PC...

Ditto! Had to send it in once for this exact problem several months ago. My E14 should be a year old by the end of this month. It's gotten RAM and SSD upgrades since I first bought it. I need it to last a while. Square Trade warranty can only carry me so far!

Ok. So I took it to a repair store locally.

    -.- You won't believe it.
It was the AC Adapter. Gahhhhh
The AC Adapter somehow died but still worked for another HP Laptop.

    ***EDIT:

Lol. I went home and plugged in my original AC Adapter for the envy. IT worked. -.-

There's probably a bad solder somewhere, whether it's on the Envy or the adapter. I had that issue with a previous laptop, where the charger only worked intermittently because a connection that needed to be made was joggling loose off and on. I want to suggest sending it in for warranty service, but it's possible that they wouldn't find and thus wouldn't fix the problem if it's something intermittent, so it's a bit of a risk sending it in - you might get nothing but a headache.

They should ship a box to you for free both ways, unless HP has a different policy outside of the US or something
