    Hi!
I bought an HP Envy 14" TS Sleekbook (K110EO) late last year and I have struggeled ever since. Both with heat and battery (guess they are connected to each other).

When using the HP on my lap (with most people do with their laptops) it's getting uncomfortably hot underheath (where both air intake and exhaust is). Same goes for if i place it on a flat table, it doesent get quite as hot as it is sitting on my lap, but not far from it, still uncomfortable.
All this heat makes the battery pretty useless, with about 2/2.5 hous of battery life (low brightness, balanced power plan).

The screen is 3200x1800 and i have two video cards, one nvidia 740m and one integrated Intel. But i think i have set it to use Intel is most cases.

Should i complain about this or is this a weakness with this particular model? Should mention that i bought it cheap from the store since they've used is as an demo pc.

I have the envy 14-k112nr with only intel graphics and do not have heat issue, your problem should be the nvidia card? Try to disable it and use only the intel and see what happens.

Do you know how i disable it completely? I did set the Intel as prioritated GPU, but i dont think that the nvidia gpu is "shut down"
