Hi, I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing an issue with the Wifi not working on the Envy 14. It was fine for the first few days, but now it will randomly stop working and say there aren't any access points available until I reboot, then it works again for a little while. I verified with my other wifi enabled devices that it isn't the access point.

Has anyone else run into this?

    Thanks,
    --Dan

Have you updated to the latest WiFi card drivers?

Many people reported this issue, but as far as I know it's been resolved if you get the latest drivers from Intel's website.

I also have this issue. I went into the Device Manager to automatically see if the drivers were fully updated and it said that the Microsoft one wasn't updated and it updated it. It said that the Intel one was updated. I'm going to see if it now doesn't disconnect at least 3-4 times a day. If it does, then I will manually get the latest driver for Intel from their website.

I am having the same issue, and I did as was suggested in the owner's thread where you disable the power saving option on the wifi card's settings, but that did not fix the problem.

I will have to try the newest drivers. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

I had the same issue occur once, I am waiting for it to happen again.
This is with an asus router, so its not linksys.

Just btw, you can just disable and re-enable the wifi adapter to fix it (in control panel, I don't think the wifi toggle worked out)

Anyone else running DD-WRT on their router?

If not, when I get my Envy 14 I'll see if I get disconnects.

Still, it sounds like a simple driver issue. As far as I know, those with the latest driver from Intel's website haven't been getting the issue.

I was having this issue and the drivers on HP's site seem to have fixed it.

I ran into a similar problem. This was not a driver issue for me as initially I tried newer and several older drivers. I have an Envy 14 with the Intel N 6200 wirless card and a Linksys WRT54GL wireless access point (running Tomato firmware). After several days of frustration, I finally determined that the problem was that "Afterburner, also known as Speedbooster" was enabled on the WRT54GL. Found out that either turning it off or putting in on "auto" cured the problem. Afterburner was designed by Broadcom for Linksys several years ago and apparently is not compatable with the Intel n 6200 wireless card.

Is the wireless connectivity strong on the envy 14?

This may be a possibility for me. My router is the T-Mobile hotspot @home which is based on the WRTU54G. In the meantime I have updated the drivers to the newest intel version as well.

    Thanks,

I also have a dd-wrt asus 300n, but it has no turboboost feature, and no other devices have had any problems

Just as an update, I have downloaded the newest drivers from Intel and it hasnt dropped on me since. I even left it on all last night downloading large files and there were no issues.

Looks like that may have been it.

    Thanks,

Strange, I have WRT54GL with DD-WRT and the default for afterburner is "off". I don't have wireless issues so its all good.

I heard that Studio XPS 16 owners had this problem too with the Intel 6200.

I have / had the same problem with my HDX ... tried 2 replacement Intel Wifi Cards, was unsuccessful... now its @ HP being 'repaired'

Afterburner is on Auto (wrt54g-s running DD-WRT), but I doubt tweaking the setting would prevent my Wifi card from spontaneously going on and off.
