Does anybody know if HP will release an envy 14 without etching or a different pattern anytime soon?

I have no idea whether or not they will.

I was very skeptical about the etching before I bought. Actually, I almost did not buy purely because of it. I'm glad I bought though (BCB helped :)). The etching in person is not nearly as bad as what pictures make it seem. Its actually growing on me....

It's really not as bad as it may seem. Go to your local Fry's or something and check out the Envy 17. It's the same thing,

I like it. It provides some extra texture and flair. And it's much more understated than it would seem.

Does anybody know when the laptops will be refreshed? I like the dm4 but I prefer the construction of the envy lineup. Im hoping that in the refresh HP offers a different finish on the envy 14.

The pattern is so subtle nobody will notice. I think it looks very elegant. They may do an all black beats edition like they did with the Envy 15.

I really liked the looks of the Envy 15 beats edition, but the huge Beats by Dre "b" was over kill...

Do you guys have an idea of a date when HP will refresh their laptops? I need to buy a laptop by the end of september and I was wondering if it was worth waiting or buying now. thanks

I have also gotten accustomed to the pattern over time. I'm pretty sure they will not release a new design anytime soon, since HP is trying to develop some kind of brand recognition for the line.

mainly for things like working with large image and video files, rendering motion graphics and color timing on video files, authoring, etc.
