    Hey guys,
My 3 year old Envy 14 has a really loose DC/power jack and will only charge if I hold up the cord or prop it up on something. My questions are:

if I keep using without getting it fixed, might I cause the laptop a lot of damage?
and can I fix it on my own (I think the quote for repairing this is like 60-100$) if I don't have any soldering equipment? And just buy a new jack or 'tighten' the old one? (I opened the laptop up but I can't reach the jack and am not sure if I should keep unscrewing things if I can't fix it myself anyways)

    Thanks!

So I changed the jack by myself, no soldering necessary. The jack is still loose, and while it will charge much more easily than before, I still have to wiggle around my AC cord. Anyone have any suggestions for what to do?

edit: The light next to where the cord goes in usually is orange for 'charging' and white for 'plugged but not charging', but now the light stays white and charges. Confused
