    Hi,

so after trying everything out, I've noticed that there is a a dark smudge/shadow smack in the middle of the image that the webcam produces.
Covering the light, or holding something solid in front of the camera does not alleviate this problem.
What the hell is this? I've tried cleaning the lens but nothing really helps.
Am I facing a faulty webcam?
I've googled but failed to find anything comparable.

    Appreciate the help.

    Thanks

It's either a faulty webcam or bad software.

Some people have experienced tinting on their webcam, but it was the software screwing it up

    Yeah, def not a tint.
It's basically a grey slightly opaque blob sort of in the middle of the screen.
Groan, so I'll guess I'll have to get in touch with hp.

You could always open the lid and clean off the lens? Just be very careful because the attachments on the lid that hold it together are very brittle.
