Well, I've owned the machine for a few weeks now and although I do like it, I think that I've been treated far too well by the Envy 13. Today the first of two slice batteries arrived and once on there, the machine is HUGE! The Envy 13 'with' slice is more or less tiny compared to this monster :)

I've tweaked the living heck out of the thing, Core i5, Radiance screen, 8Gb ram, Crucial 128Gb SSD and (Under 34 processes) although it's currently at a stable 0% cpu state, the damn fan is still on. Sure, it's recharging, but I've SET windows to 'passive' and the bios fan always on is disabled. I think HP are covering their collective behinds by forcing a slightly more 'aggressive' cooling point in the bios which leaves us with no option.

The Envy 13 at home runs whisper quiet (160Gb SSD, 5Gb ram, also tweaked to silly lengths) and is, in all honesty, a near perfect machine. The 14, albeit a fast monster with pretty much improved specs across the board (apart from the screen), doesn't have the same feel.

Oh well, it's ebay for me for a quick sale.

How much would you want for the slice?

Also, did you buy the slice off of hp's website?

Both original batteries, one from Hp and one from a guy that returned hi Envy to HP 'Without' the slice. Naughty :)

I'm going to sell both slice batteries WITH the machine, or, at least one of them. Plus, I'm in the UK and won't send outside as it's led to problems in the past. Sorry guys

Just as a heads up (since both of you are looking for a slice for the 14), if you go to eBaY and search for "envy 14 slice" there is one up for sale with a buy it now of $125 USD. I would suggest doing the buy it now, because I have a slice for mine that I paid $160 for and I love it!

Just wanted to let you guys know since you were inquiring about the OP's

Are you 100% sure these are available as in called and asked? The radiance screens said available and people ordered them well into december or january before they finally stated it was unavailable on the site. Not saying you are wrong i'm just saying someone should confirm this.

I have not called, I did add it to my cart and it shows in stock.

Im just trying to point out that if you want a slice battery, go to the link, check it out for yourself and then call and order the part, be sure to ask for the discount.
