    A recently spotted Excel document on HP's website reveals the computer maker will soon release two new Envy-series notebooks, the previously leaked Envy 14 and a larger Envy 17. While the leak only shows the model names, HP's traditional naming convention indicates the former will have a 14-inch screen while the latter will sport a 17-inch display. It's also more than likely that the Envy 17 will have a 1920x1080-pixel display, with the Envy 14 using a 1600x900 panel.

    Other information remains unknown, but the same source also shows a number of other new notebook PCs from HP, including an Elitebook 2540p and Elitebook 2740p. The first hint came in the form of an optional 9-cell battery for the 2540p on HP Korea's website, and the company has also since updated its Windows 7 notebooks with the new model names. Both models will use a 12-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 1366x768 resolution, which would be slightly down compared to the 16:10, 1280x800 specs many expected of the new notebooks.

    At the same time, the 17-inch Elitebook 8740w will have a 16:10 display with 1920x1200 resolution, like its predecessor, the 8730w, as indicated by the presence of a privacy filter for the as-yet-unreleased model.

    The same document that revealed the new pair of Envy notebooks shows that new HP Compaq CQ42, CQ62, G42 and G62 notebook, which should be different model names for the same device for different markets as well as the previously detailed Mini 210 netbook are due out soon.

    Finally, newly spotted Probook 6440b and Probook 6540b models indicate, again thanks to HP's naming convention, that they will be powered by an Intel processor, most likely the Core i3, unlike the existing Probook 6445b and Probook 6545b, which use an ARM CPU. [via HPfansite]

    I wonder if the Envy 14 will end up being i5 Core? That might not be too bad. i5 Core + Hyperthread = 4 cores...
