In October of 2011 I got myself an HP Envy. All was going well until around February of this year, when I lost the ability to configure my switchable graphics to the Radeon 5650 or display video through the HDMI port. After doing some digging in device manager, I discovered that the ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650 only appeared when booted in safe mode, and it appeared as disabled. The only way for me to have it appear and enable in normal boot mode was to uninstall it while in safe mode, and re-install when in normal.

Even though the graphics card appears and says that it is working, when I right click and select "configure switchable graphics", nothing happens.

Additionally I am running the driver version 8.741.1.1000 with windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

    Thanks in advance.
