No, they should have put an optical drive on the lid. And a 5.25" floppy drive. And a punch card reader

The MSI has a Centrino 2, which is two cores not hyperthreaded (as far as I know). So applications would see and use 2 cores.

The Core i7 has 4 cores with hyperthreading. So applications would see and use 8 cores. The Core i7 is in a completely different league.

I am thinking that it must be so distinct in that last photo because of the flash on the camera.

I bought it as well. I'm hoping it comes sooner than expected considering they talked about how magnesium+aluminum frames were more efficient and quicker to build than going with an all-aluminum design as well as being lighter.

    I bought it.

Hopefully it'll be nice and I'll keep it. I kinda regret getting 8GB and the external OD, but I may use it around once a year lol.

6 - 820 proc, external OD, Slice battery, rest stock.

Will possibly be buying a SSD, and definitely another 2gb stick of RAM from Newegg as soon as I can CPU-Z my Envy and find out the RAM specs.

Still very few...lol it is a niche after all...
I had the stock model, as it is, no OD, no extras.

Oh nice peppe1! After digging a tad on the CPU, it seems that idle consumption is very low, so you could get long battery hours...

I hear you jwith, my laptop is Atom-like performance and quad-core-like consumption,,,hahaha

Nice config Chivalric, good luck! And lets us know on the 820!

Considering the laptop is out, and we have already asked/bought it, the OFFICIAL: H P Envy 15 Owners Lounge has been created.

You are all welcomed there, it was made for getting all the related info in a same place, on the first posts.

Benchmarks, pictures and reviews, when available to post them there. I will constantly update the posts with more info.

This thread has a large number of posts which slow down the forums(and make it hard to search through for details) and since the new thread is more concise, please continue the discussion over there.
