Ok so I'm really sorry but I used the search function but I cannot go through 600+ pages of the Envy 15 thread.
So in light of recent price adjustments with the Envy line I can get an Envy 15 with an i5 CPU, fancy pants screen, and the slice battery for $50 more than the Envy 14 I wanted.
So what kind of battery life will I be looking at if I get an Envy 15 w/ i5. And then how much would it get with the slice battery.
I'm getting the laptop for school so I wanted to splurge a little since I can't bring my desktop. I wanted the 14 because it seemed to be perfect size, is the 15 way bigger?

Just so that those forum-goers who might glaze over this thread don't, I am literally in the EXACT same spot. I would make the exact same configuration as this guy, I'm also on my way to college, so I'm also looking to splurge a tiny bit to get a good computer. And like him, I don't know if my battery life is going to suffer too much. So, if people know of a place where the stats on this are condensed, that would be fantastic. Ideally both with and without slice, so I can see if it's smarter to buy one normal and one slice, or just two normals.
ALSO, I want to thank 2.0 for the work he does putting together the big summary posts at the beginning of a lot of these threads. You don't realize how useful those are until they're not there -
Since no one responded I did a little more digging. The general consensus is something between 2-3 hours with the standard battery, and 6 hours with the slice.
Hope that helps headinmysights
I wish they would just put an 8 cell battery in a bigger laptop, nah mean? -
I would expect no more than 3:30 hours running on the included battery. The slice should double that so youre looking at around 7 hours max.
A more ideal thing would be 2:30 hours so 5:50 or 6 hours max with the slice
