So, I picked up a new Envy 15. Nice laptop! However, when paying $2000 for a laptop, I would like it pretty error free.

Every time I boot the laptop, the screen goes blank once it gets in to Windows, although the power light is on and you can hear the fans. Pressing the monitor or any other key does nothing. Need to reboot.

    Thoughts?

Could be windows 7 source selection, believe that is windows key + 'P'.

Or the there should be a another source selector on the keyboard. Not sure what the key is on the Envy, on my current machine it is function F8.

Got it at Best Buy. Might have to swap it out. Still happens frequently. Thought I had the issue narrowed down to the Powerslice battery, but that does not seem to be it. Thanks for the suggestions.

When i was looking at the best buy floor model it had the same issue, the screen had horrible latency, it was flickering like the old monitors of our time lol. I had the same issue with my xps 1340 but after a bios update worked fine. I agree you should complain and moan you paid top dollar for a top of the line machine! If not then call hp get your new screen and send back the crappy one.
