Hey all, Im having some issues with the keyboard that are getting to be REALLY annoying. At random times, whenever i press "u", it brings up the ease of access window. If i press "L" it takes me to the log in screen. Like I said, its getting really annoying because i never know when it turns on. IF there is a solution to this please let me know. And as i type this, im having keystroke lag on the screen. Arghh

So is it performing the same functions as if you were hold down the "Windows" key?

That would also be my guess. It sounds like you have a sticking/dirty/problem Windows key.
    Windows Key + L = Lock Workstation
Windows Key + U = Opens Ease of Access

Yes those are the functions that it performs. However I dont know if it could by the windows key problem because I just got this 3 days ago. Is there a way of disabling the shortcuts without disabling ctrl + alt + Del?

Yea those are the fuctions that it performs without me holding down the "Windows" key.

Um idk if thats the main reason because I got this laptop 3 days ago.

On previous computers when I have had this problem I have just the windows key a bunch of times really fast and that fixed the problem.

Also have you tried restarting your computer?

Mine did that with the control button. I just pressed Ctrl a few times and it stopped.

Edit: Except it wasn't random, just stuck for a second.

Idk why that got posted twice in the same comment. NotebookReview should give us an option to delete a post lol. But yea hitting the window key does stop it from happening again. Nevertheless it is an annoying problem and I hope HP releases some kind of update. Do you guys know how to disable the window key?

Can anyone explain why this happens? The control thing fixed it for me, though (for now)

Maybe you're just accidentally hitting the windows key without knowing?

I am having the exact same problem and it is driving me CRAZY...

It happens at least twice every hour and the only way to solve it is to press the windows key.

I tried disabling the key but it did not solve the problem....

Does anyone know how to solve it?

I LOVE the laptop (ENVY 15-3033CL) but if I cannot fix this problem soon I will have to return it...

    Everything works GREAT otherwise...

Yesterday I upgraded to F.08 while hoping that it would solve the problem but it didn't... It only solved the missing keystrokes problem (which I experienced as well).

WOW it just happened again... even while I was writing THIS message.
And since I disabled the winkey yesterday (it did not solve the problem as well) the only way to fix it this time was to open the on-screen keyboard and press the winkey there...

    any suggestions?

    Found a "fix".
It was actually an issue with the BIOS.
I just checked for updates for my Envy 15-3021TX, and saw a new BIOS update to F.07.
    So, I decided to update.
Once I've updated, I noticed the issue with keypresses (123, asdf, etc.)
So I rolled back to the previous BIOS, F.06
    It worked just fine.
I'd guess you have to roll back your BIOS to the previous version.
