    Hello,

I bought the HP Envy 15 and I got someone in the US that is able to ship it to me (to Europe, The Netherlands) with USPS Express MailĀ® International.

Are there any more people who've done this before and who have any experience with the customs fees? I paid like $1300 for the laptop, and I'm wondering how much tax I'm going to need to pay, because I really don't want to pay any ridiculous amounts. Do they ask for the original purchasing invoice upon value declaration?

Also, where I live we use 2 rounded prongs ( image). And the charger that comes with the laptop has 3 prongs. Do I need to get a whole new charger? Or can I just buy a new cable with 2 prongs?

    Thanks,

    Sedoc94

Hi I have bought severals computers from the US. I come from France and the tax fees here are about 25% of the total price (object+shipping cost). The customs usually ask me an invoice or a proof of payment if the package value is high or if they have a doubt on the declared value.

For the cable, you don't have to completely change the whole charger, but just the cable with prongs

In the Netherlands the tax fees are 19% of the total price.

But what kind of payment proof is sufficient? A PayPal invoice?

Oh good! Because I was just wondering if they needed the more detailed details of the invoice which can't be found on a PayPal invoice, but rather on the original invoice from the company/store where the product was bought.

And since the HP Envy is only available in the USA, I got someone to ship it over to me from US to The Netherlands. But I'm wondering, would it be fine if I make him just ship it to me in it's original package? I'm thinking about this because the laptop will be shipped from China somewhere (assembly point) to US first, and that means the package will be packed well to handle the transport from US to The Netherlands, if I'm not mistaking.

    Thanks.
