Does anyone have the Envy 15 along with the additional slab battery that connects to the bottom? Anyone found a sure proof way to connect it?

I latch the latches, battery is secure... However, it still says that the 2nd battery is not found. Move it around a bit, and then its there.... Wait, then its gone...

Love the idea... Hate the execution.

Although in these matters, people have usually come up with a way to secure the battery every time... Anyone?

I found it stayed more secure if you locked the back first and then the front. I never had any problems with the laptop seeing the battery after I did that. Just make sure when you pick it up you pick up the slice as well; don't just grab the laptop and let the slice hang off the bottom.

Yep. Just bought my Envy 15 yesterday and have exactly the same problem. Irritating, frustrating. Even more frustrating, twice now the computer has completely powered down when I was trying to re-seat the spare battery (instant off, as though I pulled the battery out).

Have you found a solution to this?

I don't mind innovation, but these are the types of things that scare the daylights out of me:

Make sure the freakin things work BEFORE they go on sale!

My problem with HP is the Media Smart and the keyboard contact with the laptop screen. These are obvious design flaw that should never happen.

Can you clarify? Are you talking about Envy 15 problems?

I'm thinking of getting one, and want to do as much research as possible.
    Thanks,
    Mike

I am SOOO glad that I found this forum! I have been having the same issue. I thought it was my imagination at first. I was actually one of the very first people to get an Envy 15. I thought that I just wasn't paying attention when I connected it. Then, after the third time that the battery just slid off of the machine, I watched the whole process VERY carefully. It turns out that even after securely sliding the latches and making sure that the latches show the white lock image, the machine will disconnect itself after some time. I don't know why or how, but I am sick of this already! The machine is a beast in terms of raw power, but it is little things like this that just suck the enthusiasm right out of you. I'm going to call HP and I will post their response here to help others.
