    Hi

Just thought i would post my upgrades to my HP Envy 15

First off i upgraded to 7 Ultimate
Second i added a further 4 gigs of ram
Thirdly i have replaced the factory hard disk with a 500 gig Hybrid Hard disk a Seagate Momentus XT
Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS... at Insight UK
And last of all I have changed the screen from the stock 1366 x 768 to a 1920 x 1080 screen. The only difference when fitting the screen is that the screen connector cable is a little to long so I had to fold over the cable a little.

The screen came from screencountry.com on this page

ENVY LAPTOP LCD SCREEN FROM $44. HP ACER TOSHIBA DELL APPLE COMPAQ. Notebook screen, laptop display, notebook lcd, laptop tft, screen DELL, ACER lcd, screens SONY, lcd DELL, ACER lcd. 15-1060EA&brand=HP-Compaq&size=
I picked the glossy 1900 x 1080 led backlit screen.
It is just the temperature I need to address now but performance is a lot better for the upgrades

    Regards
    Simon

yes. he is talking about the UK.

UK buyers (like myself) get a pretty poor deal from HP.

no radiance display on the envy 14.

no updated envy 15 or core i5 version as elsewhere.

no custom / configurable upgrades on any HP model, envy or pavilion.

    massively inflated prices.

Hi Sorry for not posting back but i have been working away.

I am still having reall heat issues, and to top that it is now just turning its self off.

But yes it is a uk model, looks like i will have to return it to standard to send it back

    Regards

    Simon

Yer that doesn't sound surprising... gen 1 envy 15's were plagued with black screens and overheating
