Just a few pictures of these beasts together. The Envy specs are in my signature, the MBP15 has the high res antiglare, 2.4ghz i5, 4gb ddr3, gt330m.

You can definitely tell the Apple is slightly more refined, but the Envy doesn't look too bad sitting next to it  Of course, specwise there is no comparison.

in that last pic the screen on the MBP looks significantly better than the ENVY15. both beautiful, obviously. the Envy just blows it out of the water with speed but you tricked it out hardcore dude. 16GB ram!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Envy 15 screen is better. More accurate color gamut, brighter, more evenly lit. The MBP screen looks good, but the colors are over saturated and the temp is too warm. The Envy has more neutral colors and the temp is just right. The photo is not very representative of how they look in real life.

After seeing that I am set on the envy 15 now, but i live in the UK... i'm too scared about getting a unit with the black screen issue as it would be such a huge hassle to send it back to HP, has this been happening with all the envy's recently or just the i7's? That's what i've gathered from the the envy 15 lounge.

That is because the MBP screen is the Anti-Glare option, that's why it "appears" to be better, but it's not I'm pretty sure.

This issue has not been happening recently as far as I know. It was sorted out months ago.

Envy and MBP in the same bed. Controversial!
