Hi,
I've been having this problem with my two month old Envy 15 almost since I got it, but I kept trying to blame it on me just using the computer too much or maybe opening too many tabs on chrome, or really any other excuse. It happens all the time while using Chrome, or on iTunes, it has even happened while using word. The computer will just start freezing out of nowhere and if I'm watching a video or listening to something there will be a strange buzzing sound.
I've tried checking to make sure the temperature isnt high, updated the video drivers, checked the ram with memtest with it passing, and I've even tried just using recovery and going back to factory setting but it still keeps happening.
As of today I've only been using the computer for about an hour and the issue has happened 4 times, it didn't use to happen so frequently so it seems like its getting worse.
I've tried running the computer on the Ati graphics and the intel but it happens on both, here's an overview of system:
• Windows 7 x64
• i7- 2670QM
• Radeon HD 6630
• 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
• 500GB HD (came with the computer)
I tried what people advised on this http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-envy-hdx/635559-random-freezes-mouse-unresponsive-buzzing-sound-speakers.html thread but it hasn't solved anything.
I've been wondering whether I should call HP and ask about these issues since I bought this envy 15 only two months ago, but since it happens so randomly I'm not sure how I could go about telling Hp about it.
Any advice and information would be greatly appreciated, I really wanna love this computer but it gets harder every day =/
Thank You

why wonder or look for excuses???? you should have returned /exchanged it as soon as you had an issue. dude seriously?

Genuinely thought I was using it for more than it was meant for, especially since in the first few weeks it only happened I think twice both times while playing a game which I figured was maybe too much for this computer, only later on did it start happening more frequently and while using non cpu or gpu intensive tasks, but yea I realized too late it's stupid to think this computer couldn't handle simple tasks

I would recommend contacting HP regarding these issues. If you need any assistance in doing so please email me with your product and contact information at [email protected]. Please include in the subject line Attn: Veronica-NBR.
