Its been a while since I began following the HP Envy 15...I was going to purchase the Envy 15 when Ivy came out, but the delays and abundance of defects made me decide to cancel my order. Now, four or five months later, I heard about the merging line-up and the release of windows 8, and I was curious if anyone has heard anything about the future of the HP Envy 15 series and if it is going to get a refresh, get discontinued, or get discontinued and replaced by another upcoming model?

Basically, any info on this? Any anticipated refresh (No ODD please!)? Should I buy or should I wait? I know Haswell is anticipated for a May/June 2013 release, and Windows 8 any day now...

HP has announced all of their fall lineup and it does not include an update to the Envy 15. I would expect maybe first half of 2013 they'll offer an update to the mainstream Envy 15 and Envy 17 lineup, but doubtful before the holidays. It won't get discontinued, the Envy 15 / 17 are the best sellers in the Envy lineup and often times the best seller of any HP laptop online. The dv6t Quad Edition is generally the #1 seller.

I guess assumed correctly; HP is no longer offering the HP Envy 15 on their website.

yup either they are going to bring out a spectre 15 in version or start a new premium line. I hate how they basically downgraded all the lines. Envy used to stand for premium and now its being used on crappy plasticy bullcrap

They have already announced the Spectre XT Touchsmart as their top-of-the-line 15 inch notebook. But it doesn't have dedicated graphics. Otherwise it's an excellent machine.
