Hey All - I didn't see an updated thread for this series of laptop so I thought I'd start asking some questions here.

I just ordered one of these laptops from HP as they have a pretty decent sale right now and prices are as low as (if not lower) than black friday pricing.

The Model I ordered is an HP 15t-Q400 with the following Specs -
HP ENVY - 15t Slim Quad Laptop
    6th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ Processor Quad-Core
+ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 4GB Discrete Graphics
    8GB DDR3L System Memory (1 Dimm)
15.6-inch diagonal Full HD WLED-backlit IPS Display (1920x1080)
    1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
    Intel 802.11ac WLAN and Bluetooth(R) [1x1]
HP TrueVision HD Webcam with Dual Digital Microphone
    6-cell 62WHr Lithium-ion Battery
    Backlit Keyboard
    No DVD or CD Drive

For reference I ordered on 2/10/16 for $779.00 brand new build direct from HP

Primary reasons I chose this model -
I am not a full time gamer but once in a while I will throw a game on.
I primarily use my laptop for travel (lightweight)
Autocad, Vectorworks and Vivien will be heavily used
Adobe Creative Cloud software will see occasional useage (Photoshop/Illustrator)
    Aluminum Chasis
IPS monitor was a must have
Quad Core was a must, considered i5 but no hyperthreading with them
Interestingly its the only Envy model that offers quad core and a graphics chip
(all the other Envy models have a U series processor if ordered with onboard graphics)
Similar performance with less heat than Haswell

    Cons -
    No CD/DVD Drive
    DDR3 memory
950M Graphics (if it has gDDR3 memory)
    Only 1 video output (HDMI)
Poor ventilation compared to Dell/MSI/Asus laptop designs

Changes I would like to make -
500gb SSD Drive replacing the 1TB Hard Drive
    Memory upgrade to 16GB
Wifi updated to a 2x2 adapter
Possibly a 4k screen in the future...

Questions I have about this model -
    1. It comes with DDRl3 memory - wondering if this model will have UniDimm slots? If not whats the fastest memory this motherboard will run?

    2. Any suggestions on reccomends on an SSD Drive? I thought I read somewhere that Envy laptops don't support certain models of SSD drives...maybe hybrids?

    3. Recommends on a 4k screen for this model? Has anyone upgraded?

    4. Wifi - Same. Curious to know if anyone has upgraded the wifi adapter on their envy and if it made a performance difference.

I am wondering if the 950m will have the Gddr3 or Gddr5 memory. I'm assuming the 3 but the latter would be nice to have. Also curious about the DDRl3 memory. I seriously doubt it will have UniDimm slots especially at the price it sold at. I'm assuming this sale is a dump of motherboards and processors leftover from the holidays to make room for new stuff coming in the end of first quarter.

Would love to hear from anyone else that owns this model or similar.

    Thanks!
