    Hi Guys,

Wanted to post a quick tutorial on how to get Beats audio working with FN + B (with logo/icon) on a fresh Windows 7 SP1 incl. updates install.

I had issues getting FN + B / FN + ESC to work at all but managed to find a package that worked. Sadly the logo for Beats On / Off didn't work but I managed to fix it.

    The packages used:

    • SP59927 HP Quick Launch
    • SP52562 IDT High Definition Audio Codec (Latest available from the official HP drivers site)

And you might want the HP OnScreenDisplay if you are into confirmation of what is being pressed.

Now this will allow the FN + ESC / FN + B to work but you will not see any confirmation for Beats. I guess this primarily a Windows 8 version so it doesn't show.

To make the logo show all you need to do is replace 1 file depending on which x86 or x64 version of Windows you run.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch\x64\Beats64.exe
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch\Beats32.exe

This file is obtained from HP Quick Launch package sp55150 which is older and didn't work for me. It did however enable me to change Beats manually + Logo.

To make life simpler I have uploaded these files to Mega HP Quick Launch.rar (66 KB)

This config worked for me and I did manage to update the IDT drivers with the latest package i.e. SP62316
    IDT 6.10.6479.0

Make sure to clean your registry before install! << it is the only way to be sure :D

Either way I hope this is helpful to some people. Credits go to SANJAY P a brave and patient HP Support Specialist who helped me find the right combination of IDT package + Quick Launch.
