Well, just got my 3rd HP Envy 17 in the past month, this time through Amazon, and sure enough, it's got a new problem for me. I know this has been a widely discussed topic of interest, but I was wondering if anyone has actually found a fix. I talked to HP's support and he had me update the BIOS, didn't get rid of it. Also, tried some other stuff under the 'recording' tab in sound, and nothing.

However, it's strange, if I go into my 'recording' tab in sound, the noise stops entirely. Move to a different tab or close out of the dialog box and the sound is back.

Anyone out there have this issue and could help?

Yeah, he was telling me to 'uncheck' the 'Listen to...' checkbox, when the guide under the E17 thread, said to check it.

Glad they hire people who know what they're talking about.
