Hey everyone, I've been browsing this forum for the past few weeks and I was pretty much set on waiting for the new SB Envy 17 but now that the Envy 14 has the $500 coupon so I'm really considering it.

But my main question is, what image/video quality would look better?? The Envy 17 with it's 1920x1080P Brightview Display vs Envy 14 1600x900 Resolution Radiance display??

Also my other concern is if the 14.5" might be a little small considering I've had a 17" previous laptop. Are there any store locally that carries the Envy 14 to give me an idea how big it really is??

I'd like to know this as well.
And without me hijacking the thread, could you please add how the viewing angles are. I have very bad experience with my previous HP 1600x900 display, but granted it was not a premium notebook. (grey/silver washed out blacks, uneven lighting)

Edit: About display sizes, check out your local Best Buy, they should have the Envy14, and if not, you'll probably be able to find some other laptop with similar display size.

I'd say go to any computer store and see what they size looks/feels like to you. I played with the HP 15" laptops and knew right away these are not for me. Way to small, felt weird, so you can imagine the Envy 14 would be a no no.... I compare it to a glorified netbook...so no. I am spoiled by the 17.3" screen 1080p with bluray. First time I saw bluray movie 2 weeks ago on my now returned Envy 17 3D, and wow! that is an understatement. The movie by the way was Batman The Dark Knight. Colors, brightness, all crisp, popping out beautifully. 100% recommend it as that is what Im waiting. Trust me on that. LOL. Good luck deciding. ;)

Yeah Im worried it might be too small especially for watching movies.

Anyone else know what is a better between the two??
