I just updated my Envy 17 3200 to Windows 8 and now the sound from my headphone jack is almost mute. To put it in perspective, when I max out the sound at 100, it's the equivalent of about 5 or less on Windows 7 (it's so quiet I initially thought audio was completely disabled). I've updated all of my drivers to the Windows 8 drivers from the HP support site, restarted multiple times, but still no luck. Any ideas?

NOTE: This is not the same Beats Audio fluctuation issues that others have reported.

Not sure what the issue was exactly, but after performing the brightness/keyboard light fix that involves completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel/AMD display drivers, my sound is back to normal. It was probably just coincidence as a result of restarting my laptop many times, but just in case someone else has this problem, it can't hurt to try the brightness/keyboard fix ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-drivers-software-forum/630212-drivers-hp-envy-15-3xxx-envy-17-3xxx-intel-26.html#post8925118).
