HP Envy 2nd gen problems with ipod sync and mediasmart

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i can't seem to get any from HP tech support.

I have a new 2nd gen Envy15 delivered 3rd week of january. it has a ATI 5830 GPU and i7-720 CPU with Win7 64 bit.

1. I can't get my ipod touch to sync and get the "can't restore" error message. Per forums, this appears to be a issue with the P55 chipset? The fix according to most sources is a BIOS update. HP even has an article on this for the 1st gen Envy15 with a fix to update to the newest BIOS vF.07. HP has asked me to "update" to this BIOS, which did not work (the update failed). I told HP that I had VF.17 and that many reported they had VF.18. HP is unaware of anything past F.07 and suggested I got a BIOS intended for a different model. They can't seem to verify if I should have vF.17 or that a F.18 exists.

Has anyone else had ipod/iphone syncing issues? Can you verify what BIOS version you have with the new i7 2nd Gen Envy15? Is there any way to get the most recent version, like F.18?

2. My HP mediasmart internetTV module won't work correctly. I have version 3.1.1.2125. HP is unaware of what the most recent version is for this computer as nothing is listed on the drivers page. I can get some of the content no problem and have no problem streaming Netflix movies, but content from MTV and Nickolodeon won't load/play as well as one of the other channels. I can access this content directly through the MTV and Nick websites, but it won't load/play via Mediasmart InternetTV.

Is anyone else having problems getting content vis Mediasmart? Specifically with Nick and MTV?

One of the main problems seems to be that there is no drivers and downloads page for the new 2nd gen envy15. The page tech support uses and is available to the public seems to be for the first gen Envy15 (shows drivers for the older video card). tech support seems to not know anything about this computer and the drivers/downloads for it. The answer may be to wait until a new downlaod page specific to this computer is available, but how long might that take!

How about this, can anyone with a new 2nd generation envy 15 tell me if they have been able to sync their Iphone? Can you tell me what BIOS you have (click start, type in "system information" in the box at the bottom, choose system information near the top of the list and look for the BIOS version/date that shows about halfway down the list).
