Just wondering, I have had my Envy 14 Beats edition for 4 weeks.

Now when i go to use one of my usb ports for my iPhone it will stay connected for around 20 minutes and then disconnect and then re-connect and so on......

Now when i use the other usb port i dont have this problem.

Will i need to send the laptop back to HP? or can i resolve this issue my self?

    Cheers

Which port? Which specific ENVY model are you having issues with? If it's the USB 3 port then you may want to reinstall the driver. Otherwise it is likely to be a hardware issue.

If you have a current-generation Envy 14, do not use the USB 3.0 port to sync and charge your iPhone. I tried doing that with a different notebook, and it disconnected in the middle of a software update. I had to do a factory reset.

Use the USB 2.0 ports instead.

I only have two usb ports on the laptop, I have only had the laptop 4 weeks, so I assume its part of the new generation? How do I find out?

If the issue persists after reinstalling the drivers it could be a HW issue. I would recommend contacting HP. If you need any assistance with this I work for HP. Please send me an email at [email protected] with your product and contact information. Please include in the subject line Attn: Veronica-NBR.

All HP Envy 14 laptops have had 3 USB ports since the beginning.

The 2 ports on the left ARE USB 2.0. Use those.
