Does anyone know when HP get off their and release the Ivy Bridge Envy models in the UK?

I am desperate for a laptop with a Displayport and my recent Dell XPS 15 has the dreaded mesh grid issue so has to be returned.

My only other option is to go for a Samsung Series 7 which is not that great. If the HP release the ivy bridge Envy models in the UK soon then I'll wait for them.

I did see somewhere that they were ment to be bringing it to the UK at the end of July. But that does not leave long given the date today!

It was another UK based person I think that had contacted an HP rep on twitter or something.

Like you I am after a good spec laptop with displayport so I can also use on my 30" monitor. Had been tempted to order from the US but put off by the risk of problems and having to return.

They seem very slow with their refresh to IB, but soon they will have to and hopefully that will be what forces them to update their line up.

I have even been tempted by the new MB Pro range, but then VM's and Bootcamp would be needed given my requirements.

Keep away from the Envy 17-32xx series JUNK.
Read the Envy/HDX forum for the series.

A display dock is still the best bet. AMD's software is totally messed up.

It was me who contacted them, they said there may be announcement as early as july, and I've also seen a response to another saying it should be coming to the UK late summer, but who knows, currently you can spec a machine in the us with an i7, full hd display and 256gb ssd for £860, I am very tempted to buy one myself as who knows what spec we will be offered and at how much.

long and short of it; should be released by the end of august.

Good luck guys with getting your laptops, I'm in the US atm and finally got the Envy 15 after all this time!! (Only shame is missing the olympics... missed the opening ceremony and all the channels here keep going on about team USA.. :( ) Mind you it is the old 3040nr, but I have found out that the ivy bridge additions are miniscule and I don't game on pcs. Tbh, the red-orange issue is not as bad as everyone came out about it, or maybe I just came from a really bad screen before. When comparing with my iphone there is a very strong contrast, but alone the screen is wonderful, I'm not picky. I had to travel all around the east coast for it however, finally found one in Frys in San Jose (all of the laptops were sold out everywhere, the old version! in Wallmart, Best buy, Microscenter). It was a heck of a hassle, but I am happy since I got it after tax for $1250, so just under £800 :D A note about the quick ship model, I was so concerned about hardware faults with the laptop that I opened it up in the store since I know I don't have any warranty once I leave the US, much to the confusion of the staff. Safe to say that the model surprisingly is spotless, no dented ports nor speakers or popping out screens. I suppose that the overall quality of pre-built models are much higher than the models that all our American peeps buy direct and customised from the store because the quality control would be higher with greater numbers of laptops manufactured. So don't worry, when you buy the laptop from the UK I am pretty sure the laptops will be a lot less faulty than what the other members are talking about.

Will HP Envy 15-3200 ever see the light of the day in UK or Europe as such?
I really want to buy it.
