one of the thing I'm really disappointed of HP is the lack of support to keep the latest version of the drivers, I have an HP Envy 14-1000t and the latest drivers update for the graphic card is on 2010 while the video card could still function with the latest drivers from ATI/AMD but HP don't want to spend the money to do this. Now I'm running Windows 8 RC and can't find any support of even beta driver for my video card HP Envy 14 - radeon HD 5650.

Windows 8 isn't even out yet and you demand support for it? Not even us with the envy 3000 are supported for Christ's sake.

@sylvester711 I'm not demanding support for it yet, I'm saying that HP is the kind of company that doesn't support them equipment once it been out for a year and the sad part is that the way the implement them configuration lock in the hardware so you can't ever get the update from the OEM.

I got mine working using stock 771 HP drivers after following this guide to disable driver signatures. Then using the Consumer Preview AMD drivers to install CCC which gave switchable graphics (Not new drivers though as I recall)

No luck with the Developer Preview drivers though.

I agree this is a mess though

Would that work for the Envy 13, too?

Well, that's just the case for every company out there that makes deals with AMD, don't you see. Let's talk about Sony, how many times do they update driver software for their notebooks for example the S series that comes with AMD 6xxx Mobility graphics? It's not about HP or Sony, it's about AMD and their crappy driver policy. Take a look at Nvidia, they take care of everything relates to their cards, starting from the 400 family. Drivers are released every now and then, customers are happy with the regular updates.
For me this is the first and also the last time I buy a computer with the red team's graphics.
And for your reference, HP is updating, not very often, but they really do update, drivers for their notebooks. Think Synaptics drivers. And after all, what kind of driver software that you want updates for if it's not graphics?
