    Anyone have experience with the HP extended warranty? I am looking at this one HP 3-year Care Pack House Call Service with Accidental Damage Protection for Select Pavilion or Envy Laptop | HP® Official Store.

    I am just looking for any impressions in terms of speed, quality, reliability, do they fight about accident claims? Things like that.

    Also, do you guys think I could convince them to give me the 25% off since I just purchased my new Envy (and it hasn't even shipped yet) but at the time I bought it I did not get the warranty. $157 looks a lot better than $209. I know HP is pretty lenient, just wondering if anyone else has had success getting the discount when buying the warranty separately.

    I have the four year version of the warranty. The repair turnaround time is about a working week. Most repairs are done in the depot right outside Nashville, TN. I think that HP repair facility has improved. Shaky at first...then things got better

    As far as 25%...I doubt it. My Envy shipped a few days late and nothing. My son's Pavillion shipped 7 days after promised date...HP gave me $100.00 credit for the inconvenience. You will have to call and haggle this one...but if you are still in the "shipping date" window...don't expect much

    Thanks for the response.

    I am not saying 25% off the laptop, I am wondering if I might be able to get the warranty deal. If you buy the warranty with the laptop you get 25% off the warranty. I was just wondering if anyone has had success with getting HP to give that 25% off on the warranty when they did not buy both in the same order.

    I bet you can get the discount. It they fight you, tell them you want to cancel the order, or you will return it when it arrives. At that point they will probably cave and give you the discount.

    I forgot to order the 3 year accidental warranty with mine, I just called and they said they can not give me the 25% discount. I only the called the direct sales line. Let me know if you get any luck with this.

    ::UPDATE::
    I just called 1-888-650-1544. I went to the all other questions menu and told them I forgot to add the 3 year care pack. The lady said it was 209.99 and she asked what the discounted price was, so I said around $150. She talked to a supervisor and was able to get $50 off the 209 price. I went for it, $171 after tax in NJ.

    I had a dent on my envy 15, they gave me a exchange and gave me the 3year accidental for $20.
