Anyone have this? Is this worth the extra 130? I do not have a TV in my schools apt. And when I travel I think it would be pretty cool to have your own portable tv.

Is the reception good? Or am I a complete idiot and dont know what im talking about :D

It's actually a good little unit. It comes with the IR breakout box that also has a little IR blaster on it so you can control cable or digital satellite boxes.

The main drawback is that there is no way to use it outside of Media Center. So you can't, for example, use it with Dscaler to play a PS2 on your monitor.

You'll need an external antennae or cable/satellite service. I use it with DirecTV and NFL Sunday Ticket and I have no problem recording games I missed because I slept in too late :D

It is just a little overpriced though.

so what kind of antenna would i need if i wanted to lets say go to the beach or somewhere without plugs and watch TV

Is this antenna big? Is it like the wireless cars (for desktops with those little antennas?) or is it a wire

this is one thing i don't like about the use of expresscards vs. keeping pcmcia slots.

You would need a standard TV antennae. Either a pair of rabbit ears or whatever you could find. Go to Radio Shack and see what they have ;) Keep in mind that if you have cable or satellite back in your room and use an antennae outdoors that you'll have to setup Media Center's channels and such every time you switch.

first of all this is the first time i've been in a forum so i'm not exactly sure where to post. but i'll ask my question anyways... how do i un-f**k my tuner card. i was watching t.v. on it today and i accidentally pulled the card out and the t.v. froze and i had to manually shut down my computer. then when i turned it back on the program said that there was no tuner card detected. so i tried to reinstall the driver software that came w/ it and it still says it can't detect the tuner card. please help!!!!

Uninstall the program. Reboot. Reinstall the program. How the heck did you "accidentally" pulled out the card? It's a tiight fit!
