This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Just got a new laptop, and I'm setting up my express card. I can get TV - but it only appears to be the standard signal - not my cable (not a great picture, limited channels).

    When i go through setup it shows that it recognizes my cable connection, but when I try to watch the cable it only goes to channel 18 or so - (the same thing it would do if I wasn't paying for cable).

    Do I have to run the connection through a set top box in order to get the "real" cable signal with 200 channels?

    If not - what else could the issue be?
