Hi Mokofoko. I just received my drive for $115 shipped as well. It's the slotload bronze version and it is in mint condiiton/original product codes as is yours. However, I can't get a blu-ray to play (Avatar, only bd I have.). Picture is essentially black and white and grainy (play, setup and chapter buttons look perfect though) and the content is not centered on the screen. I am using PowrDVD10 trial and the p/n on my drive is 538333-001. I am running a brand new i5 w 4gDDR3 and hd intel graphics. Any thoughts/suggestions? I only have a short period to return this. Thanks in advance. -Tim

I seriously doubt the drive is bad--you need proper BR software to play BRs, so I suggest trying something else. I'm personally using Cyberlinks powerdvd9 and it's great. Install DVDFab while you're at it--the copy protections sometimes stop BRs from playing properly.

You have PLENTY of time to return it--45 days from payment date to send it back. If you go through your credit card, you have 90 days.

Does anyone know if the Envy 15 external bluray drive will work on the Envy14 with out a Y adapter?

Yes it will--it should work with any HP laptop, and most every other laptop out there--without a Y-adapter. My issue (which required the Y-adapter) was that I was using an underpowered netbook.
