    Vista Home Basic, sp1
Mobile Intel 4 Express Chipset (driver ver. 7.15.10.1518)
LG ggw-h20l blu-ray/hd-dvd/dvd drive (connected via usb)
    PowerDVD Ultra 7.3

PowerDVD has a Blu-ray adviser you can download from their site. It should let you know any weak points.

I have the cyberlink advisor, and for both hd-dvd and blu-ray it says the graphics card and graphics drivers are suspect. however like i said hd-dvd still works perfect, and i have the latest graphic driver. i was hoping someone had tested or had knowledge of a similar system either working or confirmed not to work, for blu-ray

what resolution do you have your desktop set to? set it to native if it is not, then retry.
what graphics card is in the PC?
have you tried reinstalling the drivers found on the manufaturers website? i remember someone said there was a compatability issue with non OEM drivers and bluray playback, however i have not had this problem when using quickplay.
