these are the ports on my laptop: HDMI, VGA(15pin) and i have a microphone and headphone jack

my tv is a Sony WEGA XBR 36 inch ... got S-Video port and the regular Video and Audio ports...

how would i be able to hook this thing up ...

if i gotta run audio off my laptop i guess thats gonna be alright cuz the speakers are louder than life ...

you can use hdmi out to the tv assuming your tv has that. that way, the audio would come through the tv because hdmi is video + audio out.

alternatively, you can use vga out to the tv but then your sound would be either coming off of the pc speakers OR you can do what i did and hook them up to a surround sound system.

    hth.

i have a logitech z5500 surround sound speaker connected to my laptop. my 42" plasma is connected to my laptop via VGA cable. that way, anything i play on my laptop, the video goes to the tv, and the sound gets sent to the surround sound setup. that goes for anything - games, movies, etc.

What is that cable? HDMI-->Component? If so that would be perfect.
