Fan issue caused it to become a brick. Don't know if it is the CPU or Motherboard. Got another Mobo waiting on fan to assemble. Question concerns the CPU. TMRM70DAM22GK. If fried what would be the best cost effective performance improvement upgrade. The top is the ZM-82 according to the HP guide. Cost is some concern 15 vs 55 would the improvement be that noticeable.

Ok, fan came in I assembled it and lights come on, no screen. HD light says somebody is home but no further activity other than occasional indication. Put Vista disc in reads but no further activity. CPU must be gone.
