I bought a HP G60-243CL 16” laptop last week from Costco, here is the spec:
    AMD Turin X2 RM-72, 3GB Ram, 320GB HD, 32bit Vista Home Premium SP1
Everything works ok so far, but when I use cpuz.exe v1.49 program to check the configuration, the report for the memory shows Slot#1 is a 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 and Slot#2 is a DDR2 1GB PC2-5300, they are from different manufacturer. I thought they should be the same speed. Will this affect the performance of the computer? Was this a mistake from HP? Does it really matter?

    Thanks

It's a little unusual, that's for sure. If the notebook was spec'd for PC6400 ram I'd make a call and get a 1gb PC6400 stick to replace the PC5300 because the notebook will default to the slower of the speeds. If it normally had PC5300 they "upgraded" the 2gb stick because it didn't matter and they probably had extras or something.
