a family member gave me a used g72 that had been randomly loosing screen signal. sometimes it worked of hours and even days, but eventually it would totally white out the screen even though the PC was still running, so when that happened i would press the power button and it would play the shutdown sound. then i could reboot it and it would come back up fine.

last night i used the laptop to transfer data from it's original HDD to a backup drive. After finishing that task, i shut it down and went to sleep. then this morning when i tried to boot the PC i noticed that the light that surrounds the power plug would turn ORANGE instead of staying blue. so i took the battery out and found that the power cord light stayed blue. however every time i press the power button to turn the pc on it's power led turns blue for a second and the WIFI light blinks orange then i here a pop right before it shuts off. i don't even get a post screen now.

anyone have any tips or advice?

    thanks,

    bigO
