I have no idea what's going on, I plugged in my headphones to listen to music and everything was significantly quieter. I turned all of the mixers up to 100% and it improved, but I can no longer get it to deafening levels. It definitely wasn't like this before. What could be the cause?

Sound driver could have been messed with. I would definitely reinstall the IDT sound driver buy going to HP's support page. It should have a automatically detect button which will detect your computer then reinstall the IDT sound driver.

If that doesn't help perhaps a clean install. What operating system is this? Vista or 7? HDX 16t or 18t? Hopefully we can find a solution. :D
