hello. I am new in this forum..
I bought my HP HDX 16 about a month ago.
And, I am very satisfied with all features in this laptop.
I have one question, is about how to connect Internet using my Sierra 885 modem.
When I run Ping, there is connection.
The weird one is, I browse via Firefox, IE, even Opera it says there is no connection.
I checked on Control Panel, and yes there are connection, Local Area Network 2, Connected, but again why my browser cant connect Internet?
I try to fill the IP ADDRESS and DNS, accroding to my communication operator's websites, but still no change.
When I try this modem to another computer it can connect perfectly, without fill in IP ADDRESS and DNS.

Is it different if I want to connect using Windows XP or Vista 64 bit?
And this modem is support for XP and Vista.
Any suggestion ? I am very very wonder what happen with my laptop..

    Thank you.

I had a similar problem with our 2wire modem when we got our new HDX16 a few weeks ago. HP wasn't able to help but luckily ATT's broadband people were familiar with the issue because Vista was the culprit (my other computers run on XP or Mac Os).

The tech had me change my network name and WEP key and it worked like a charm.

I have the same problem. Deleted all teh bloatware, and all of the sudden Explorer and Firefox don't work, but Explorer 6 bit does!

Tried changing the SSID and WPA password, to no avail...
