This HP HDX 18 laptop was working fine with the original Vista but the owner upgraded to Windows 7 and now the Media Center software and the HP Smart Media doesn't work properly, also, the Bass and Treble function on the Keyboard area does not work.
Thing is, even with a cd playing the Bass and Treble function does not work,I am wondering if it's a driver compatibility problem with windows 7? any idea what's going here please?

There's a very specific way you have to install all the software that was installed with Vista to get all of that working correctly, and in the end its not even really worth it... but it has been done...
I think the thread is somewhere in the drivers and software message board. -
On my HDX18 a year ago I put Win7 64bit on.
For MediaSmart DVD software I installed sp46629 from HP.
For MediaSmart Smart media I have sp45140.
Also sp46731 to make the volume mute work.
sp45011 IDT audio makes the sound better and less viobration from the subwoofer, also that fixed the orange light on the mute that didn't work .
sp46731 Quicklaunch.
I think when I installed HPTonecontrol it fixed the bass and treble. You'll have to Google that. Its not at HP. Someone provided it and has either the 32bit or 64bit version.
