    Heya

I recently purchased a hp hdx 18, but i cant find any info on the one i posted anywhere...everything I have found is not as good as mine with lesser parts...Anyway these are the specs

    Intel core 2 quad q9000 at 2ghz
    nvidia gerforce gt 130m ddr2 1025mb
    4 gigs of ddr3 sdram(2dimm)
    vista x86 64 bit

Anyway, i was wondering if its possible, or a good idea to overclock the gfx card or processor in this machine, and if its ok to overclock it, whats the safest amount to oc and how would i go about doing it? I checked on-line but couldn't find any good tutorials...

    Thanks in advance :)

You can download the nVidia Performance utility here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_system_tools_6.02.html

Only install the Performance Utility from that package, you aren't likely to need the other ones anyway. It should allow you to overclock the graphics card.

As for the CPU, it's unlikely that it could be overclocked, and i believe it runs hot enough as it is.

Would it be a good idea to OC the gfx card?

If you're asking that you shouldn't have started this topic in the first place. :p

I just ordered the HDX18T with QX9300 CPU. I email HP and they pre-install the Extreme tuning Utlity (XTU) from Intel, which will allow you to overclock this quad core to 3.5Ghz and more. Can't wait...

the XTU utility only works on Extreme Processors, so it will not work on the Q9000

Did you get XTU working in your HDX18T QX9300? I wonder if I could send me laptop to HP to install the XTU?
