    Hi,

I just bought an HP HDx16t laptop, and I was wondering if anyone knows and utilities for controlling the fan speed? The laptop gets just hot enough to be uncomfortable when you actually have it sitting on your lap normally, but the fan is only barely running, and I've heard it run at higher speeds so I know it can be increased. I've tried utilities like Everest and SpeedFan, but neither of them seemed to have any options as far as fan speed goes.

    Thanks

I am not sure but I think the bios controls the fan speed. Therefore, you would have to hack the bios as you can't manually set it in the bios. Heat has not been an issue for me but then again, I set it on my desk.
