Hi! today I stumbled on a problem with my HP HDX, hope someone can help me. I connected the HDX to my TV using an S-Video cable and tried to set up multiple displays so that the TV showed what the HDX screen showed. However, the HDX could never detect any external display. My TV is quite old, around 10 years or so, but I hadn't had problems before with other computers in setting up dual displays. I tried everything in the HDX, but the nVidia Control panel doesn't offer much options. I even lowered the resolution but it didn't work.
These are my graphics card specs:
    nVidia 8800 GTS M 512 MB
    Driver version: 7.15.11.6753

I realize there's an HDX lounge already, but I find it impossible to read through more than a hundred pages :p
If anyone had this problem and found a solution, hope I can hear from you.
My initial suspicion is that the TV may be a little too old or incompatible with the HDX, but like I said, I don't have problems with other computers, which are both laptops, one from Acer and the other is a Compaq.

    Hi Juan,
I thought that the only outputs on the HDX were 1)VGA and 2) HDMI? I believe the svideo and coax/antenna are input only?

I could be wrong, but that might be your problem. I'll double check my HDX when I get home.

rwilcox is quite right. It's S-video in only. No S-video out. Same with coax.

All right, rwilcox21 and 2.0, thanks for your help. I suspected as much, but I wasn't sure. It is a pity S-Video is in only. Do you know if there's an HDMI to S-Video Converter?

I don't think that's possible. HDMI is digital while S-video is analogue. Would require D/A conversion circuitry.

I suppose somebody makes a VGA to S-video cable. Or a USB docking station may have s-video out.
